In early 2024, Craig, JJ, and Marty were brought together by a local drummer who was trying to reform a new version of a previous hard rock/metal band that had broken up recently. While that project didn't work out, it quickly became apparent to the core trio that they wanted to work together and do something entirely different. Ideas were tossed around, and after many discussions and a few dinners at our favorite Mexican restaurant, the name, format, and concept of Lady Luck was born. We knew that we wanted to do something entirely different than what most of the typical cover bands were doing. We wanted to do more than just play great songs - we wanted to bring an immersive experience that blended theatrical concepts, fashion, technology, and a fresh approach to song selection.
It seemed to us that there have been hundreds, if not thousands, of memorable hit songs made in the last couple of decades, but only a very small percentage of them get repeated airplay or are played by most cover bands. In fact, you could gather the setlists of a dozen typical cover bands and they would almost be interchangeable. Lady Luck plays not only the songs people love, but the songs that they MISS !!! - Songs that have meaning in people's lives that they haven't heard in a long time. Treasured songs that bring a sense of nostalgia and great vibes that touch people's hearts and put a smile on their faces.
Armed with a list of killer songs, High Definition video screens with custom made backdrop videos and a computer controlled lighting rig, Craig, JJ, and Marty set out to find the final piece of the puzzle - 2 more musicians of exquisite caliber to be able to faithfully recreate the sound and feel of these important songs.
We got lucky in the bass department! After scouring the Internet for possible candidates, we started to line up auditions. Bryan was the first and only bassist we auditioned. He came in with his affable attitude and a sense of humility that belied his enormous talent. The search for a drummer, however, proved to be much more arduous. We brought in several talented players, but none were "the guy". As it turned out, "the guy" was in our midst the whole time - JJ's son Jaron.
With the lineup complete, Lady Luck is now ready to unleash the results of over a year of developing a show, finding the personnel, and intense rehearsals. We are proud of what we have created, and we hope that you will enjoy the fruits of our labor.
